As I have become somewhat frustrated with my running as of late, I watched 4 Minutes, a movie about Roger Bannister, yesterday and that has helped me get motivated again... then reading a Cool Running newsletter I came across an article about Navy SEAL Physical Screening Test (PST).
Is it possible?? Hear are the standards:

Enlisted Physical Screening Test (PST) Description

I. Overview:

a. The physical screening test is designed to assess the applicant's physical ability to undergo initial training. The test will be administered exactly as indicated. No waiver will be granted for failure to successfully complete the physical screening test.

PST swimb. The run/swim times and push-up/sit-up/pull-up standards are minimum standards only. Maximum effort is required for all exercises and will be reported on the physical fitness screening test form submitted with your application.

a. 500-yard swim using breast and/or sidestroke in under 12 minutes and 30 seconds

10-minute rest

2-minute rest

After you've gone thru boot camp and navy seals boot camp that test would be a walk in the park.
I know I couldn't do it because I wouldn't make it past the swim. Haha.
