Another One Bites the Dust

*disclaimer: Christy doesn't like the subject line, but I think its funny and me, so I left it. She loves me and will forgive me.

So I finally got around to asking Christy to marry me... Surprise she said "Yes!" I know most of you won't care about all the romantic details, but I'll let Christy type them here in a minute. Let me say I'm totally in love with her and she totally amazes me. I'll never forget though the next work day after we started dating, one of my co-workers said, "Nick you're smitten." It is totally true!!

Here's Christy:
Here is the scoop: After finishing a long day of work at the hospital I was surprised by a red rose and note on my car asking me to meet Nick where our journey together began. I found him at the canal walk in Indy where we had started dating. Nick had prepared a romantic candlelit
Chinese take-out picnic in the grass! I could hardly eat I was so excited that any minute the man I have been waiting for my whol
e life was going to pop the big question! It was perfect! [ A few months ago we picked a little box at Borders with all you need for a romantic Chinese dinner for two. There were little lanterns that we hung from the tree, cute chopsticks, and placemats. ]
He gave me a dozen roses!! We enjoyed dinner and some sparkling juice [thanks Pez!] together before he passed me a box of Girl Scout Cookies for dessert. Inside was the most beautiful ring that is so perfect for me. I was ecstatic as he g
ot on his knee and asked me to marry him!!!!!!! He had prepared several notes written on "flower cards" talking about how much he loved me and what I meant to him. It was totally sweet and romantic. On the bottom of each note was a Scripture reference, that he had memorized, quoted, and explained his interpretation to me. They talked about the husband's role in marriage. What a wonderful night! I never knew being in love would be so wonderful. I praise God for this amazing man and the many adventures we will share together!!!!!

Congrats dude. I was about to ask if girls read your blog (as I was wondering how that picture of a ring got there) but then I saw this comments page already full of their responses.

I can hear Freddie Mercury singing now.

Ok, I'm so glad you took the before kiss picture. Thanks!

Does this make you my roommate in law? OR does that just sound too unkosher? We'll come up with something.

Cross IS an excellent surname for Christy. You suit each other very well.

although, when i said that to her face she informed me that she'll forever be known as "Chris Cross" which might cause a few of us to remember certain musical groups from way-back-when. i still remember that "jump jump" song. it's on my computer.
